The high-speed amphibious hovercraft PARMA 44 is designed to transport up to 4000 kg of cargo + 2 crew + 5 staff. During testing, the hovercraft reached a speed of 50 km/h in calm water with an overload of more than 50% (6400 kg). Hovercraft belongs to the class of “cargo” hovercraft and is designed for transporting goods across bodies of water in summer or winter, including with short-term access to the shore. The boat is capable of overcoming smoothed ledges up to 90 cm high and not smoothed ones — up to 65 cm. The boat is capable of reaching speeds on the water of up to 80 km/h.
Operation is permitted at outside air temperatures from -40ºS to +30ºS and maximum wind speed up to 12 m/s at any time of the year. The vessel can be operated in coastal sea areas and inland waterways. Restrictions on operation — wave height up to 1.2 m, distance from the place of refuge no more than 6 miles. When driving on ice or snowy surfaces, operation is permitted on bodies of water of all categories. Operation on any other flat, hard surface, extremely shallow water and swampy surfaces is permitted.

Housing
The hull of the vessel is made waterproof. Sheets and profiles made of aluminum alloys are used as the material for the main body, set, and foundations. Rolled sheets are used grade Amg5M, GOST 21631-76. Profile steel grade Amg6M or D16T according to GOST 8617-75. The hovercraft body is riveted (with the exception of small parts made by welding). The tightness of the outer contour of the boat and the corresponding transverse bulkheads is ensured. The impermeability test is carried out in accordance with the test diagram and table. Protection of the housing from corrosion is ensured by the use of aluminum-magnesium alloys that are resistant to corrosion in river and sea water. In marine hulls, D16 alloy is replaced with AMg. Additionally, it is planned to paint the outer and inner surfaces of the body with paints and varnishes.
Behind the salon there is an open cargo deck measuring 6×3 m. A superstructure is not provided. To cover the cargo located on the cargo deck from precipitation, a removable awning is provided. It is possible to install a crane on the cargo deck or above the air cushion inflator compartment. To transport wheeled vehicles, they are loaded on removable ramps. Loads may be placed on hanging sections.
Engine

The hovercraft is equipped with two KAMAZ-667 engines, each with a power of 300 hp.
Four-stroke six-cylinder diesel engine with an electronic Common Rail fuel supply system, with an in-line arrangement of cylinders and pistons rotating one common crankshaft, with a lower camshaft. The Cummins 6isb 300 engine is designed for installation in medium- and heavy-duty trucks. In domestic industry, it is used as a power unit for vehicles such as KAMAZ 6460 and 6520. The engine has a closed-type liquid cooling system with forced circulation. The lubrication system is combined: under pressure and splashing.
The rated power of the KAMAZ-667 engine is 224 kW, which in terms of horsepower is equal to 300 units. This figure, for clarity, is included in the motor markings. The specific power of the 6isb 300 is 0.36 kW per 1 kg of engine weight, and the specific torque is 1.45 Nm/kg.
To increase power parameters, the Cummins power unit is equipped with a VGT turbocharger, which, in addition to its main function, helps save fuel when operating at full power.
For KAMAZ-667, the length/width/height are within 1260 mm, 930 mm and 1045 mm, respectively. The weight when fueled is 616 kg, while the weight of the “dry” engine is only 522 kg. The relatively light weight of the engine allows for more efficient use of the lifting capacity of the hovercraft.
Engine oil consumption when operating at rated power (300 hp) is 0.1% of fuel consumption.
Currently, the engine is produced at the KAMA-Diesel plant in Naberezhnye Chelny.
